Brothers & Sisters in Jesus/Family & Friends,
Greetings in the name of Jesus. We love you in Jesus´ name. His love covers a multitude of sins and failures and hurts and wounds. The price Jesus paid for us was intended to bring healing and restoration and blessing to our whole being. So we are no longer bound by sins or failures or wounds. When we are in Jesus, we are freed from the penalty of sin, we are being freed from the power of sin, and we will be freed from the presence of sin. (This saying normally uses the word saved in the place I used freed. Either way, it´s still truth. We who believe in Jesus are already saved from the penalty of sin. We are being saved from the power of sin. And we will be saved from the presence of sin.) So we all have great reasons to rejoice in the Lord.
Thank you all for your prayers. As I was telling you previously, we are in a place of seeking the Lord for His specific will and plan that He has for us. So since we are not doing ministry at this moment while we seek to get established in the plans and specific will that the Lord has for us, we are not receiving any financial support from the US. If we were doing ministry, then I would be able to see that there is a reason for us to receive financial support.
I originally came here with the intention that the book I wrote would be our primary means of support. It was published shortly before we left to come here in 2012. But since I was not there in the US to promote it, it really hasn´t been a help. So since I could work here legally, that was a help. But that also has not been nearly what we would need to live here and do ministry and be on top of all financial responsibilities. So for some time I have had before the Lord this situation in prayer.
I am waiting for a final decision about whether Brazil will give me Brazilian citizenship, making me a dual citizen of the US and Brazil. The decision I believe to be the wisest and most in step with the Lord´s will and ways is that when Brazil´s decision about whether to give me citizenship or not is finalized, if I do not have suitable work here that covers all of our needs and helps us have everything in order, I will plan to go back to the US to work.
But what you could pray with me and for me is in relation to the book. I believe the Lord told me to translate the book into Portuguese and contact publishers here in the hope that a publisher will publish it in Portuguese and start promoting it here. If that happens and the book does well here, we can stay and establish our ministry. So I am asking you to please pray for that to happen. If it doesn´t happen by the time a final decision is made about my Brazilian citizenship request, I will plan on returning to the US to work.
So I have this situation before the Lord. And I am not asking for help financially. But I am asking that you pray with me because I really believe the Lord wants us here for ministry, not for secular work either here or in the US. I always understood the book as being our main means of support for this to happen. So if the Lord wants this to happen, I have it before Him that He stand with me regarding this. Please join me in prayer over this.
