Brothers & Sisters in Christ/Family & Friends,
Greetings in the name of Jesus. Be blessed with all the blessings that accompany a living relationship with Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
As I have been reporting to you for the last few months, we made a shift in direction so we can come into something that can be more effective in the kingdom of God. Doing detention home ministry can be rewarding, but it is hard to see lasting fruit without a church. So we are seeking to settle in on something that will be more effective at making disciples who will have a place to grow and mature in the Lord. Please pray that the Lord will open the right doors so that we can see this kind of lasting fruit, that is, disciples growing in relationship with the Lord. This is normally associated with a church.
As I explained in the last update, we are no longer seeking financial support from anyone to do this ministry. But we are asking all our friends to pray for us that the Lord will open the right doors so that all we need will be provided by the Lord. We are seeking to do this ministry by faith. He is our provider and He is the One who calls to do a work, so He is the One who will provide for the work. (Perhaps in the future we will return to being open to have a link on our website for receiving help to do this ministry, but for now, please pray for us and for the Lord´s plan to be realized.)
I think these years here in Brazil have been like the first years of Joseph in Egypt. But I always thought of Brazil as being the promised land for me. The difference is that in the case of Joseph, going to Egypt meant being a slave and then being a servant in prison until the day he was brought before the pharaoh to interpret his dreams. But entering the promised land is entering a place you are destined to have and then coming to have great success and fruitfulness in that place because it is the fulfillment of the plan the Lord has for you. I always thought of coming to Brazil as coming into the promised land for me. I want it to become this. I really think it´s what the Lord intended. Please pray over this for me.
Be blessed. We love you in Jesus.
Joseph, Cristina & Hadassa
