Brothers & Sisters in Jesus, Family & Friends,
Greetings in the name of Jesus.
Since the last time writing to you, we have been dealing with some family challenges here with sickness in the family. It isn’t our sickness, but we have been helping at times so that issues for doctors and tests be done. It has kept us from being as consistent as we normally are and we also haven’t been as consistent due to the holidays. Hopefully, we will be back to normal soon. As has been the regular pattern, we share the message with the youth from cell to cell, and nearly all are attentive to hear the word, and nearly all want us to pray with them afterward, but normally at least a few make decisions to either give their lives to the Lord for the first time or return to the Lord. So praise the Lord for the past year and the opportunity to bring the Gospel to these youth in the two “detention homes.” By the Lord’s grace, we will continue faithful in this. In at least one of the two facilities, it would be very appropriate for us to begin a discipleship teaching time if we can receive the opportunity. The other facility also has several who have come to Christ. If the Lord opens the opportunities, it will be a great next step for these new brothers in the Lord. Please pray that the Lord open the opportunities and also give us the new team members we need to do these things.
In Jn. 8:34-36, Jesus said, “Most assuredly I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” (NKJV) It’s interesting to consider that the apostles considered and called themselves servants or slaves. Surely it doesn’t mean that those who serve the Lord are continuing to practice sin. But as it says in Hebrews 3:5-6, Moses was faithful in all of God’s house as a servant, but Jesus was faithful as a Son over His own house. We are free from sin since Jesus was our substitute and paid for our sins and so are adopted into the family of God as sons and daughters. But we choose to serve the Lord as our Lord and Master (as servants) as we live in this relationship as sons and daughters, being faithful and serving in His house.
Please continue to pray for us. We have plans we believe are the Lord’s vision for us here, but we need people to pray and believe with us that the Lord will cause these things to be realized. If you want to catch up with us a little, visit our website and you can see the previous updates there and add comments afterward if you like. Also, if you would like to support us financially, you can find a link on our website also. There is also a link to the book I wrote on our website. www.agapeofabba.com
Be blessed. Thank you for your prayers and support.
