Brothers & Sisters in Jesus/Family/Friends,
Since I last wrote to you, we had a cantata using some of the youth in one of the facilities to recreate parts of the story of the life of Jesus. Some other ministries who work in this facility were there also. The other groups did music and teaching. It was important to us that some of the youth do these parts to be familiar with the life and ministry of Jesus. Part of the reason we don’t have pictures on our website is because the same or similar restrictions that exist in the US regarding youth and minors being photographed apply here. We can’t take cellphones and cameras into these facilities anyway. But some of the staff members there took some pictures and sent them to us. Perhaps I will be free to send some of these later.
Currently, I am reading through 2 Corinthians. The Lord is impressing on my heart the reality of how Paul was willing to pay great prices in sufferings and struggles for the sake of those who were coming to the Lord through this suffering and the difficulties he experienced. He relates this to identifying with Jesus in His death and resurrection. 2 Cor. 4:11, 12, & 14 say, “For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal bodies. So then death is working in us, but life in you. . . knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you.” (NKJV)
In our identification with Jesus, He brings us to the end of ourselves, the death of ourselves, that the life of the risen Lord may operate in us and through us. Happy Resurrection Day! We have the life of the risen Lord operating in us now and God will raise us up as He raised Jesus. All died in Adam. All are raised because of the Last Adam. We who believe and follow the Lord will be raised to rule and reign with Jesus as part of bride of Christ.
Please continue to pray for us. I took some steps to be in a position to receive better work here. But the new door the Lord has for this has not opened yet. This is the biggest need at the moment. (I would prefer to not work a secular job as a “tentmaker” here if the Lord opened that possibility, but I will do what I can to see our church and ministry get established.) Please pray that the right doors open and that we be able to see the Lord open great opportunities to fulfill His calling for us here.
Be blessed. As always, thanks for all your prayers and support
Joseph, Cristina & Hadassa
